Hello fellow sewists! This is my first post here at TMS. I’m 17 years old and I blog at Adventures of a Young Seamstress, as of the past few months.
For Frocktober, I made the Colette Ceylon dress in a dark red lightweight wool. I actually picked this pattern before it was included in the inspiration post (as in early September…), but it took me forever to get it sewn. I know, excuses excuses! But, October was a really busy month with schoolwork and I also had to work on getting my Halloween costume ready.
I tried lots of new techniques with this dress, including covered buttons, which I love the look of. I had to size it down, which was also a a first for me. Other than that, I made very few changes to the pattern and am really happy with the fit.
For full construction details and more photos, see my blog post. More photos are also on my flickr.
Thanks for reading!
