Jennifer Lauren The Afternoon Blouse x 2!

When I saw Jane’s version of this new pattern, I immediately bought the pdf and started cutting! This is Jen’s first pattern release and I absolutely love the vintage feel but modern techniques used in making this blouse.

My bust and arm circumference were outside the pattern size range but since the blouse is designed with kimono sleeves, the grading was very easy. The blouse is named the Afternoon Blouse because it is such a quick make. I am a SUPER slow sewer and even I was able to make two versions in the last week!

My versions were made from fabric in my stash and were very different weights. One was made from suiting and the other from Liberty lawn. Both fit reasonably well and the only issue I had was tweaking the bottom of the front closure. The pink version has a non-functioning sewn on button and the print has no closure at all. I plan to use different brooches from my collection to keep the front closed.

If you haven’t tried this pattern yet, I highly recommend!
