For my sewing double challenge, I chose the Cambie dress from Sewaholic Patterns. Last time I actually didn’t sew the whole thing- I only used the skirt with another bodice! And this time, I only used the Cambie bodice with a different skirt! So my two “Cambies” are very different indeed. (Does that make me cheeky for calling it “sewing double”? Haha!).
My original Cambie was blogged here.
I call this the Maryanne dress in tribute to Maryanne, who runs Made on Marion, blogs, and is generally awesomely skilled and inspirational! I bought this fun cotton from Made on Marion. I don’t generally buy quilting cotton for dresses, but I wish I had more cute dresses like this!
You can see more pictures on my blog and my experiences with the fitting, as well as my findings as I worked with piping for the first time!
I tapered the piping to nothing at the underarms.
“I wish the sun would come out…”
Not too sure what I’m doing here- maybe celebrating that I actually finished it in time!
More on my blog here. Here’s to more Cambies, hooray!
