May has been “Sew Stretchy” Month and I am enjoying sewing these knit tops. This one is Butterick B5645 sewn with a 96% polyester 4% spandex. I love patterns that make it easy for you and offer lots of variations.
Amazing hmm? From THIS to THIS!
This top has this great gathering in the middle of the sleeves. Easily made by zig zagging elastic cord on.
Then before the side seams are sewn up the sleeves are sewn in… with some serious 90 degree turns at the beginning and the end.
See … When you fold the front and back together to sew up the side seams you get these great looking sleeves.
I am very happy with how this top turned out and am planning to add more to my list! I wouldn’t change a thing on the pattern. What do you think… Maybe next time a “floatly” light see-through fabric on top with a solid underneath? Maybe the one with the cowl neck?
PS… As usual there was a “boo boo”. If you want to read about it, come on over here!
