Hello everyone!
I have to say, the level of this competition is really high, with all those beautiful dresses coming in!
It´s now Winter in Brazil, so I am doing a lot of winter sewing. Cardigans, pants, and of course, dresses!
So now I present you my humble knit dress for Winter.
I had this pattern in my stash for ages, it´s the Audrey Knit Dress by MariaDenmark, you can get it here:

I really don´t know why I didn´t make this dress before, I just LOVED this pattern! It´s very easy to sew, the instructions are perfect, the fit is great, and the end result is really cute and comfy. My fabric is a light sweatshirt, really soft and warm. The color is black with pink hearts all over it.Wearing this dress is like wearing a camisole in public, ha! I highly recommend this pattern to anyone, it´s a delight to sew and to wear! Actually, I recommend all the patterns from MariaDenmark, I have almost all of them, and they are all great!
I chose the size L, and didn´t make any changes related to fit, but I didn´t use the neck facings that came with the pattern (because I lost them and didn´t want to print them again, ooops). I just drafted a simple neckline band, like the one you would sew on a t-shirt. I stabilized the shoulder seam with a knit stay tape, and finished the hem using a double needle.
What I really loved about this pattern are the back darts, they give the dress a nice shape.Looking at this picture, I think I might need a sway back adjustment. Maybe for my next version…
I tried the dress with my Cocoon Cardigan, a cardigan I made hacking the Renfrew top, more details on Kollabora:

I also think this dress look great with my knitted vest, my first and only attempt at knitting! I realized that I might be the slowest knitter in the world, and after I started sewing, I just don´t have the patience to knit anymore…
All the best from Brazil,
Tatiana
PS: Did anyone notice the squashed bug right in front of the dress? This little “accident” (basically, he came out of nowhere, I freaked out, because I hate bugs on my skin, then I squashed him without even thinking…) happened a minute before I took these pictures, it was really funny, but I was also very upset. I am sorry about that little stain on my dress, but I wouldn´t have the time to wash the dress without losing the deadline for the contest this week.
great fabric!

No bug in sight! I love how nicely the dress coordinates with your other pieces. I really like Kollabora, I post over there too. I’m on my way to check out your post! 🙂

Can’t spot the bug either 🙂 Looks great on you. I’m with you on the slowness of knitting, but it does indeed go well.
