The Tour de France was in Yorkshire and to celebrate I made Le Zig-Zag ,which was in monochrome! ( I actually just sewed it the same weekend!)
I used Lekala 5688 once more…Indie Pattern month made me try a company I had not used before. I made The Mantilla Blouse last time. In my head I had a 1920s ladies golf outfit and I was going to make a matching skirt until I realised it would be zig-zag overload!!
The fabric is a soft stretchy lace which did fray slightly, so I zig-zagged the edges as soon as they were cut out.
I did have a moment when I cut the pieces out and realised it would have been so much better to have kept the front and back as one piece and cut the neck out…..massive pattern matching zig zag issue!!
I decided to overcome the problem with some hand stitched ribbon. I quite like how it looks. I did not face the blouse as I did previously because I just love the drape it has, so I used bias binding for the neck and sleeves.
