Basic but nonetheless loved….

So my contribution this month isn’t going to set the world on fire, but I’m all about the wearable right now, and this is my latest tweak of the Tessuti Mandy Boat tee pattern (free download from here!), using a lovely striped cotton-lycra blend from my stash that has been crying out to be made into a bateau-neck top.

This is my 4th version, and by now I’ve removed 2 inches from the centre front and back, a couple of inches from the side seams tapering to nothing at the armpits, and shortened it it to create a curved split hemline that I just love (see my how to here).

For my other versions of this great staple, and other non-monochrome bits and pieces I’ve been making pop over to my blog.

  2. I have been tempted by the boxiness of the mandy boat tee but have seen other versions that just look too big. I really like the alterations you have made and I am very tempted to copy them!

    • It’s a great pattern – from the start the sleeves and shoulders fit ok but it swam on me through the body, so little by little I’ve tweaked just the width until I’ve got it just right!
