Welcome back to day two of the Sew with Us Sewaholic Lonsdale series 🙂
Yesterday we got everything cut out and our bodice partially assembled, today we’ll finish it off.
Remember, if you have any questions feel free to ask in the comments below and for a more technical run through you can also jump over to the Lonsdale Sew Along on the Sewaholic website.
Let’s get back to it!
Step 2: I pressed my loops so that the seams end up at the center in the back, this way the seam is hidden inside when the loops and folded over.
Then I fold my loops over (this is not entirely clear in the instructions) and pin them between the notches ready for basting.
I don’t always mark my notches, it’s a terrible habit that you probably shouldn’t copy. In this case I just laid my fabric piece back over the paper pattern piece and placed the loops on using the pattern under as a guide.
Bonus Step: If you want, now is a good time to add your labels to the lining pieces. I accidentally bought some Sewaholic ones last time I was cruising her online store…oops 😉
My personal labels are plain pink text. I’ve had them for a while but I remember I agonised over them for ages before I finally bought them. I wanted them to be fancy but hated all the pre-designed options. In the end I went for simple and I add embellishment by backing them onto a small colourful piece of fabric for contrast.
Step 3: Joining the bodice pieces together. I have stitched all the way around and then overlocked the edges.
Well done! 🙂 Tomorrow I’ll share my tip for turning those pesky long ties.
Remember to post your progress over on the Facebook group page.
See you soon! xx
Where did you get your labels from? I’ve been contemplating putting some on the Christmas list 😉
