Sew the Giselle dress with me, I’m so frocking excited!!

Hello there! How’s your Frocktober going? I’m loving all of the beautiful creations out there – you’re all so talented!

This week you can sew along with me for Kate and Rose’s Giselle dress – a decidedly bohemian dress with two variations – long sleeves and gathered skirt, or a sleeveless maxi. This week, I’m making view B, because I’ve developed a soft spot for maxi dresses – counter-intuitively, they make me feel TALL. And I like feeling tall.

So, here’s the schedule for the coming week:

19 October: Call to arms – join me! (Sew with me: the Kate and Rose Giselle in 3, 2, 1…)

20 October: sticking and cutting

21 October: Assembling the bodice, midriff and ties

22 October: Sleeves and armholes

23 October: Making and attaching the skirt, hemming and adding the elastic

24 October: Designer interview, and your day of grace to finish and photograph!

25 October: You must have your Giselle posted here on TMS by 24:00 UTC. What does this mean?

26 October: Party with Giselle! Roundup post of all entries

28 October: Giselle contest winner announced

30 October: Winner announcement

We start tomorrow, and if you’d like to join in, don’t despair! Giselle is a pdf pattern and you can get it right now from the Etsy store.

Kate and Rose have generously sponsored our sewalong this week, and the prize is two pdf patterns for your choice from the Kate and Rose range, and the winner will be chosen by Kate and Rose designer Kati. A big thank you to Kati!

It’s going to be a fun week, and the sewing is nice and easy – so join me tomorrow, and let’s get our bohemian on!
