A while ago I purchased a “few” batches of fabric while on a Vancouver (Canada) shopping trip. My favourite find was this Batic 100% rayon. It was destined to be a Sewaholic Yaletown!
Besides some fabric, thread and elastic, there isn’t much else needed for this dress, well … I am always keen to use single fold bias tape and seam binding to finish off my hems, but those aren’t required!
The pattern instructions were easy to follow and the dress is so “fancy”, yet so comfortable to wear! I had no problem fitting it as is. Although lately I am practicing my pattern alteration and fitting and I deliberately traced out a size too small in the bodice so I could practice sizing it up to fit me! One of these days I just might pull a pattern out and sew it in my size, as is, no changes, just follow the instructions given!
There is nothing to dislike about this pattern – even Simon gave it two claws up!
It is a winner! I enjoyed putting it together and wearing it so much, I see more Yaletowns in my future!
