Hello everyone!
Before my move to São Paulo, I had several projects already cut and waiting to be sewed. One of these projects was for Indie Pattern Month, this was suppose to be my entry for a frankenpattern…
Last week I finally finished sewing this dress, and I love it! The bottom is the skirt from Nettie bodysuit pattern, it´s a perfect pattern for a knit pencil skirt, and the top is my beloved, my most favorite pattern of all, The Lady Skater Dress. I modified the bodice to include the peplum and the small bow on the neckline.
I don´t know if peplums are still fashionable, but I really like them, they give me waist definition and make me look skinnier… (Although now looking at these pictures I am starting to think that this is only on my imagination, haha!)
I loved this fabric, it´s a textured knit, very stable and warm, not suitable for summer days, but it was ideal for this project.
Maybe this is cheating, but this is not a proper dress, I didn´t sew the skirt and top together, this way I can wear them separately, and have more options for my wardrobe!
This picture is just to show the texture of the fabric with more details.
All the best from Brazil,
Tatiana
I really like this dress! I think the peplum is very flattering. ( I think it still counts as a dress) ;0

I noticed the texture of the fabric right away. I like it! I always like peplums myself too – not sure how they would look on me, but it looks good on you, I should give it a try for myself!

Great job combining a couple of patterns. I like the fabric colour and texture. I much prefer the idea of separates. As you say, adds more wardrobe options. Very cute ensemble. 🙂
