The Oh Hell Yeah Jacket

This is the second project I made for the outerwear challenge this month. The pattern is McCall’s 6656, rated as easy. I stumbled across this pattern when I was trying to find something that might work well with the wool fabric I had recently purchased. The wool is a vogue fabric that I picked up at Joann’s. It’s a little weird so I wasn’t sure what to make with it. I also bough the faux fur from Joann’s.

This pattern was very easy to follow. I made view A (the pattern has four different versions of this jacket). I altered the pattern by adding about four inches to the length and I made a belt to with the jacket. Jackets just look better when they’re belted. It’s unlined and the pattern doesn’t call for a lining. You could easily make this jacket in a day or two, taking your time. It was fun working with the faux fur. I wasn’t sure how my machine would respond to it, but no issues. I think I will be making another version of this jacket again in the future.
