A very hungry emery dress.

Once again, I’m a little late to the party I hope you don’t mind. But here is my better late than never G33k out entry.

My The very hungry caterpillar emery dress.

I have had this fabric in my stash for about a year now, at the time, I purchased it under the guise that I was going to make something out of for my little miss but secretly I wanted a dress out of it too, so I purchased an extra couple of meters just in case I would ever actually do it.

Something for little miss

Enter a period of not being able to get to my machine, a bunch of enablers on Instagram, a few free hours, a tried and true pattern plus what ever fabric I had on hand to create something and here we have it.

The Pattern, is Christine Haynes Emery dress. This is my ultimate go to pattern, I could rave on about this pattern, but I won’t. I’ll just say if you haven’t tried it, You should.

modifications made include, omitting the sleeves, slightly modified bust darts, and exposed zipper instead of he recommended invisible.

Does it fit in to the geek out theme. I’m not really sure, but, honestly, who doesn’t love the very hungry caterpillar?

  1. Cuuuute! I have 2m of this fabric in my stash too and have NO idea what to make from it, because it’s so bright. And because I have some other fabric (with the worm eating fruit) that would need feature somehow

  2. Wow, a very cool make, what great fabric! I love that it looks so familiar, but still doesn’t shout hungry caterpillar in your face.
And I see, you still have a little bit left of it, so can we expect another very hungry project? 😉
