Black Denim Skirt

I love denim skirts and I wear them a lot. I made one last Spring and I love it so much that I decided to make another one-out of black denim this time.

I just pretty much love denim, and that’s why this is my second post in the Denim Never Dies category!(The first post is here.)

I drafted the front and back for this skirt off of a ready to wear skirt that I have, and then I used the waistband, fly, pocket, and yoke pieces from a jeans pattern that I like (An Angela Wolf jeans pattern).

I got the black denim from and the buttons from Mood Fabrics. I like to use regular buttons on my denim clothing instead of jeans buttons. It takes the pressure off because if I need to adjust a button after I’ve sewn it on, I can without there being a hole in my garment.

You can read more about my skirt here if you’re interested. Thanks for reading!

  1. Beautiful. The Angela Wolf jeans are next on my list to make – I’m particularly interested in the wide waist band. This month I’ve made the Moss Mini in a denim and the Ginger Jeans (yet to be posted) – yay for denim!
