I have had the amazing good fortune this month that the monthly stitch challenge has completely coincided with my sewing plan. First time ever! Last month I bought some linen / cotton mix fabric in blue from Truro Fabrics to make a skirt. I voted for the solid colour challenge and my initial was for blue! I have a lot of blue items in my wardrobe, but strangely I haven’t made any blue clothes yet.
My plan was to make a sixties-style mod skirt. I drafted my own pattern based on my measurements from a skirt sloper I made about a year ago.
As I’m sure my family will attest, I don’t take too well to be bossed around. So, Miss Bossy, I didn’t follow you to the letter; I have included some secret print on the inside. I’m really pleased I managed to find such a good colour match.
As usual there are more details on my blog. Do you know this may be a record, am I the first to post for this challenge?
Thank you. Perhaps I need to make some more blue items.

I like the look of this skirt and it looks really easy to mix and match with plenty of things.

Thank you. I do think that blue is one of my faves colours. I find it really easy to mix and match in an outfit in a way that defeats me with other colours.
