Hello! It’s been a while since my sewing plans and TMS have collided at the right time – we’ve been ships in the night the last few months. But I just realised today that I have actually made something that will suit this month’s solid challenge, in a colour that I really very rarely ever wear (brought to you by the letter W for my surname). This top is my version of a RTW top I saw late last year. I used one of my favourite pattern mashups – New Look 6808 and the Colette Laurel. I widened the sleeves a little, and cropped their length, and the hem length.
The fabric I had in my stash, a lovely metallic coated white linen, and the lace came from my local fabric store Darn Cheap Fabrics (unglamorous name, faaaaabulous store!).
I’m rather delighted with the outcome. Even though I don’t wear white. More over at le blog, if you’d like to check out the inspiration top and more pics.
