Onesies for the Nephew

Hi All! I loved the challenge this month – it was a good reminder for me to not get too caught up in Me-Made-May and make something for someone other than myself 😉

Pattern: Dylan Onesie from Spit Up & Stilettos. I absolutely love all of their (free!) women’s patterns and their kid’s patterns are equally adorable! The pattern itself has wonderful instructions… and it’s such a stable I know I’ll get plenty of use out of it!

Fabric: For the main fabrics, I used leftovers I had from other projects. The striped one is a two-sided cotton jersey from Girl Charlee and the puppy fabric is one I made on Spoonflower for the Crazy Dog Lady Sewing Challenge! The green is a cotton jersey from Mood that I have 3 yards of that I need to make into something. But for now… it gets to be binding 🙂

I finished one with velcro and one with snaps and almost learned the hard way not to sew snaps onto thin jersey knit! :/

Thoughts: The only thing I may do differently when I make more of these is to serge the edge of the binding that you can see to give it a more finished look. It won’t matter once it’s on… but still… I know it’s there 🙂 I love how they turned out, though! I can’t wait to see them on my adorable little nephew!

Come on over to my blog to say hi and see some super cute 6-month photos of the little Mr.! 🙂

Also! In preparation for Indie Pattern Month (who’s preparing!? I know I am!) 🙂 – here’s yet another list of where to find patterns if you are like me and enjoy massive lists full of pictures! 🙂 Enjoy!

Thanks for reading! Until next time!
