A Strawberry Milkshake Shirtwaister

Alright, so maybe this one is a bit of a stretch for this month’s theme. It wasn’t inspired by Strawberry Milkshakes, but now that I’ve finished it, it surely reminds me of them. The Pink and White Gingham, with the extra accents in white, plus the super full, fluffy skirt totally reminds me of a foamy delicious Strawberry Milkshake.

Anyway, while this dress look like a 1950’s pattern, I actually used a 90’s pattern for the bodice, sleeves and pockets, then added bust darts and a full gathered skirt that used 4 widths of 44″ wide fabric, which makes it the fullest skirt I’ve made (not including my wedding dress)

Anyway, Thanks for looking 🙂
