My inspiration for this month came from Naomi at Spare room style and her Sew Hot Right Now post on the fashion of the time of Hercule Poirot, she, like me, loves the styling of the 20’s and 30’s. This was a strange kind of coincidence anyway, I had been collecting images of Miss Lemon on pinterest, personal assistant to Poirot, created by the fantastic author Agatha Christie.
As is usual for me, my top is a refashion of a maxi skirt and the lacy collar from an old blouse. Sometimes the great thing about a refashion is the taking apart of the old pieces of clothing. I often pick up some new sewing method or technique and in this instance I found a method of attaching the collar with a binding that I hadn’t seen before. For the rest of the story and images showing the binding technique have a look at my post.
It is beautiful! Love it. 🙂

Thank you. Yes I like a lace collar trim, I used to have a top similar to this one in the 80’s
