New to Me: Julia Cardigan

When you’re a new sewer, everything’s New to Me, but this cardigan came with my Indie Pattern swap and I couldn’t be more pleased with it.  It’s the first time I’ve used a pdf pattern and it was so straightforward with a really easy to follow pattern.  Once I cut it out it took only a couple of hours to make and there was nothing tricky about it.

The pattern is the Julia Cardigan from Mouse House Creations .  The fabric is a heavy-ish, silky, shiny jersey.  Sorry I can’t be more specific but I’m new to this!  The shop didn’t have enough of one colour so this is a mix of a dark blue and light blue (although the photo makes it look black and purple).

IMG_4846It was so easy to make, especially as if you do the double collar there is absolutely no hemming.  The sleeves and collar fitted in neatly and the size needed no adjustment, which is just as well as I don’t yet know how to do that.

I can see myself making loads of these.
