When Megan Nielsen released her Axel Skirt pattern, it immediately went on the must have list! But when I went to sew it, deciding which version to make was not such an easy decision…
So I did what any rational seamstress would do; I sewed up all three! And each of us over at Skirt Fixation ended up with a new skirt. Success!
Here’s version 1:
Version 1 has a handkerchief hem. You can also even out the points and make a trumpet shaped skirt if desired. I used brown ponte de roma for this skirt, purchased at JoAnn Fabrics.
Version 2 is a knee length skirt with hip sashes. Yes, I hacked this skirt into a maxi skirt because that’s what I love! I used some jersey knit stripe fabric from Imagine Gnats.
Version 3 is a midi length skirt with a slit that can be worn in either the front or the back. Allegra loves this skirt and suggested she needs a leather jacket to go with it. Hmmmm…
Each of The Axel Skirts are form fitting knit skirts with a wide waistbands. They are very quick and easy to construct. The patterns are illustrations, simple and easy to follow. Both body measurements and finished garment measurements are given, and we suggest to look at both as well as the stretch of the knit fabric. The final skirts are very comfortable and complimentary.
Please hop over to Skirt Fixation for a special Megan Nielsen discount code and a giveaway for $100 to spend at Imagine Gnats plus Megan Nielsen patterns!
Great makes and so nice to see the 3 of you side by side modelling them! My fav is the stripey one 🙂
