When the monthly stitch ladies said there would be bundle sales, I said “take my money”! I love bundle sales, the suspense, the surprise and the value for money. I purchased the mini bundles for the 1st 2 sales and the full bundle for the 3rd (yes, patternaholic!).
So far I have sewed the Alberta pencil skirt from Sew House Seven and the Sophie Cardi by Muse Patterns. I love them both and they are welcome additions to my wardrobe.
For the cardi I used a yummy raspberry merino blend that I got from the Levana factory store. I managed to get 2 separate meters, one in a remnants sale and the other in a lucky dip bag. Very lucky for me I say. The only tricky thing about this cardi was sewing the curly edges, as this fabric was quite fine and curled, but that was a small aggravation. Other wise the construction was a doodle. It fits well and I love it!
For the skirt I used some denim I scored from Nicks fabrics. I liked the look of the sample and that’s what I based it on. This was also a simple sew with a zipper and kick pleat to keep it interesting. I love the big pockets and I’ll be wearing this heaps. I ended up grading between 3 sizes to get the right fit, but hey that’s why we sew! The order of construction is such that it is easy to baste the side seams together first to check the fit before you finish.
happy sewing stitches!
