RDC Ludivine Robe LBD styled

The LBD is a stylish and timeless dress design that can be worn on my occasions. A well chosen simple designed dress combined with only one jewellery is the key to have a fabulous outfit. What else does a girl need? And what could be a better make to start the year then make one.

This fabric was bought last December for the Day and Night Dress challenge run by Elizabeth form Elizabeth made this. I was invited to participate for the bog tour. The sweater fabric came from my stash but this beautiful Ponti di Roma fabric was special bought for the challenge.

I’ve chosen the RDC Ludivine Robe to make both dresses. It’s a beautiful pattern that has some great style features. The bust dart is clever used in the front panel pattern. Although the dress looks perhaps complicated to make it’s in fact a great design for a novice seamstress.

I’ve made some alterations. The pattern was designed for body length 165 cm so I added 15 cm for the LBD version. Besides the fitting alterations I also drafted facings to finish the neckline. More about the alterations and the fabric choices can be found here.
