Announcing the June Challenge

June will soon be upon us. June has traditionally been Indie Pattern Month and I know you are all eagerly waiting for that, but you’ll need to hold your horses until August for that. In the meantime, we still have two great challenges to keep you out of mischief in the meantime.

So here we go for June…

Secret Pyjamas!

Know what we’re talking about? Yep, those days when you’re flaked out, or eaten too much the night before and would rather be in PJs, but for some reason need to wear something a bit more decent than PJs.

My favourite secret pyjamas are my lady skater dresses. I have four of them and I can put them on and be so comfortable, but I know they don’t look too bad if I have to go out and have coffee with friends. To make them even better, during the winter, I can team them up with thick tights and a jumper and I’m sorted. Perfect for curling up on the sofa too 🙂

What are your secret PJs? Perhaps you love Papercut’s Anima Pants? Team that with Scroop Patterns Otari hoodie and you’re sorted.

Perhaps you want something a wee bit smarter, have you looked at the Itch to Stitch Lindy Petal Skirt teamed with a Sewaholic Renfrew. I’ve also made up Butterick 5523 in merino. So comfy…

Or perhaps you’ve made up a pyjama pattern to wear during the day. I’ve seen some very pretty Carolyn pyjamas which can be worn to go out in. Or I have Simplicity 1561 (which seems to be out of print) in my collection, wouldn’t that top look really cute made up in a Liberty print?

What would you make?

Let’s see your secret pyjamas and pretend to the world that we’ve spent hours and hours deciding what to wear and “no honest, it’s great to have lunch and catch-up today”!

  1. The Lady Skater dress is my A++ secret pajamas go-to. I think I’ve made six or seven? But I’m wondering whether the Closet Case Patterns Charlie Caftan might work as well. I’ve got the most buttery soft double gauze calling out to be sewn!
