We have a heat wave in the Netherlands. I’me a jeans wearing person and have only one Summer dress and no skirts in the closet.
So I started sewing skirts. The first one was a refashion. And who can believe it? It was out of a dress I made more ten years ago for our youngest daughter that she didn’t’t wore anymore.
Well this skirt let to two more skirts. These three skirts were made without a pattern.
And then came this BurdaStyle magazine. I found some beautiful soft light weighted chambray in a jeans colour, added pleats to back and belt loops, made an exposed zipper in the back and after four evenings of sewing my skirt was ready to face the daylight.
Beautiful skirt! ❤

Love the blue chambray skirt. It’s inspiring me to think about sewing for our summer which will start soon here in Australia, thank you 😊

Thank you so much. Unlike my homemade fitte jeans I like my skirts with pleats so the swirl and move around me.

Thank you so much. It really looks great when I’m not wearing a belt and with my Top tucked in.
