We don’t want to step on the toes of our September challenge (we’re very excited about that one too…) BUT, we also couldn’t wait any longer to announce — it’s here! It’s the month we’ve all been waiting for! Indie Pattern Month is here at last!
Transitioning over some of the people involved in The Monthly Stitch right around the time we were supposed to be planning for IPM was not ideal, but we’re settling in now and we could not be more excited for the incredible lineup of sponsors and challenges we have to offer you this year!
Are you as excited as we are?! We hope so 🙂
If you’re new around here, make sure to check out last year’s IPM page here.
We’ll be announcing the four competitions next week(!) so you can get to planning. All we can tell you right now is that two are returning challenges from previous years and two are brand new. One doesn’t fit with the usual mold of TMS challenges and might force a few of you to branch out in your pattern selection. Any guesses?? 😉
As with past years, the Week 4 contest will be open only to TMS contributors who have posted on the blog prior to October 1st 2018 and have posted something that wasn’t for any previous Indie Pattern Month. Therefore, if you don’t fall into those categories but want to be eligible for the amazing Week 4 prizes we have coming your way, make sure to get your post in for this month’s challenge – or amnesty day, which runs on the last day of each month 🙂
Last but not least, we are constantly blown away at the generosity of our sponsors. We definitely couldn’t do this without them! This year, we have some amazing returning sponsors that you’ve seen here before and plenty of new ones as well — we always hope to bring you a name or two that you might not be familiar with as we continue to expand our love for indie patterns and designers!
Here’s this year’s lineup:
All of these sponsors have contributed to our amazing prize pool and some have also offered discount codes so you can snag a few patterns throughout the month as well!
As with every year, if you’re not into sewing contests, that’s quite alright! The overall October theme is “Indie Patterns” so we’d still love for you to sew along with us even if your pattern doesn’t fit into any of the contest categories – as long as you use a pattern from an independent designer, you’re good to go!
Soon we’ll also launch the dedicated IPM 2018 page to help you keep up with all the details — you’ll find that in the top menu for easy reference. Feel free to ask any questions below and remember to follow us on Facebook and Instagram for more IPM 2018 news and updates!
Okay really, how excited are you right now?
Any guesses as to what this year’s challenges might be?
