I’ve been sewing since I was too small to reach the sewing machine pedal unless it was set on an overturned laundry basket. When I was a teenager my wardrobe was almost entirely handmade and/or thrifted. After I finished nursing school, things like working a full-time job, getting married, and birthing 3 children derailed most of my sewing. Now at age 30-something I’m still working full-time, still married, and still have 3 children, but the sewing is getting added back in.
