I have always been arty and crafty and have been sewing since I was a little girl, but was completely put-off by high school sewing class and found machines became a real stumbling block for me. However, when my Mother upgraded to a new Pfaff years ago, she received a secondhand Singer as part of the deal and that became my first sewing machine. Since making curtains, cushions and “straight line stuff”, I have branched out into clothing and am now obsessed ๐
That old Singer was passed on through Freecycle to someone else and the end result is I now own a 1969 Bernina 730, a Pfaff 6091 and an Elna Contessa overlocker.
I am a nurse, trained as a Midwife and my previous specialty was Palliative Care, but now I work in Research.
My name reflects one of my other passions; playing ancient/early music on my collection of recorders (12 at last count, all sizes), alas, since starting to sew in earnest, I have found playing music has taken a back seat ๐ฆ
I don’t really have a blog, I just started the WordPress thing, so I could be involved in TMS! As far as blogs go however, I am addicted to sewing blogs and spend way too much time reading them. Check out all of Jenny’s posts on The Monthly Stitch
I am now writing a bit on my blog, check it out ๐
