Pinky Bar tee

I started this one back in July, with plans for it to be a ‘cake’ project – a simple tee to wear with jeans. Since it’s Amnesty Month, does that mean I can consider it ‘cake’, ‘indie’ and ‘stretchy’ all at once? Three challenges in one, yeah! 😉

It’s the SJ Tee pattern from Papercut. A slouchy-fit tee with a wide neckline, raglan sleeves, and wide cuffs. You can make it up with long or short sleeves, and either long or cropped in the body. I went with the long-sleeved, long body version, since we’re only at the start of Spring here in New Zealand and it’s gonna be at least another month or two (or three….) until short sleeves are all that wearable!

I made this up in a merino-nylon blend from my stash – a gorgeous shade of pink (I am somewhat partial to a bit of bright pink!). It’s a rather lightweight fabric, so it’ll be a good all-seasons garment – easy to layer in winter, or toss on over a singlet top in summer when it cools down at the end of the day.

And since it’s a slouchy-fit tee, it fits well over a baby bump!

The pattern came together nicely – fast and easy to make up using my overlocker, and the cuffs and neck band give a nice, clean finish. I used a twin needle for the hem.

Final verdict? Great pattern, I’ve worn this quite a lot already, and will definitely be making more!
