Vogue 8805 – last over the finish line

I don’t have a heap of UFOs.  In fact i think I’ve only got one, other than this.  So when the Monthly Stitch announce it’s February challenge I had to do a bit of head scratching as to what I had that needed finishing off.

Then I read a post a couple of weeks ago about a dress in the same raspberry denim that i used in this dress and bingo I was off!

I only needed to take in the side seams, lower the neckline and hem everywhere.

In total it took me about 2 hours, and now for the life of me I can’t really remember why I never bothered before.

I think this dress is going to be my new best friend! It’ll be perfect just for a casual everyday dress when I want to be a bit dressier than jeans. And with heals and a jacket it can be dressed up for an evening.

At the minute boots and opaque tights are needed until the weather warms up and I get some colour on my pearly whites!

This pattern really lends itself to colour blocking. It has 3 panels front and back. I would have done the top back and front all red but didn’t quite have enough fabric, hence the blue panel top left.

I’m so glad now though, especially with the red button placed against the blue denim.

Unfortunately this is the only UFO i’ve managed to finish this month. I’ve been all engrossed in the Splendid Sampler and accidentally gotten hooked on making up blocks for a quilt! How did that happen!!?? I really need to get a grip and make more clothes!

If you’ve enjoyed reading my post head over to my blog to see what else I’ve been up to!

    • Thankyou! It’s great for using up left over fabric or chopping up things that aren’t worn any more. Think I need to do more – I’m just sorting my stash out and have quite a few 1/2 metres of jerseys which are crying out to be colour blocked! 🙂
