I’m a recently retired middle school teacher, beginning my second career as a dressmaker. I’ve sewn off and on for the last 45 years. Now I have the time and desire to sew clothes for myself and others. Presently I’m learning how to design the “perfect fit” for my friends and family. I’d like to begin teaching others to sew as well. I think it is a very eco-friendly endeavour, especially when you can restyle and upcycle clothing using your imagination and creativity to make a unique and stylish garment. I’m so glad that I am part of a worldwide community of sewers that like to share their accomplishments, advise, and tutorials, but also make friends across the world via our communality in the craft of sewing.
