Announcing the June challenge

Every June The Monthly Stitch celebrate all the fabulous independent pattern designers with Indie Pattern Month.

This year is no exception, IPM2015 will be bigger and better than ever!

After IPM2014 we asked you what you thought. You gave us a lot of great feedback and new ideas and we want you to know that we listened. The Monthly Stitich is all about our amazing Collective and this year we are incorporating as much as we can of what you want.

Just like last year we have four competitions, one per week. The competitions are based on your most popular requests.

They are:

  • Dresses
  • Separates
  • New to Me
  • One Pattern Two Takes

“One Pattern, Two Takes” is an extra special competition because it will only be open to Monthly Stitch Contributors. Lots of you told us that you wanted one competition open to regular contributors and we agreed. Only TMS members who have contributed to the blog prior to 1st June 2015 (not including IPM2014) can enter this competition.

IPM2015 sees some of last years sponsors return and also some brand new ones. We invited several smaller indies to join us and included some fabric and notion shops.

All theses sponsors have contributed to our amazing prize pool. Check them out:

If you’re not into sewing contests that’s quite ok. Indie Patterns are still the overall June challenge and we’d love you to sew and share your indie pattern projects with us on the blog.

Leading up to June we’re also going to run a pattern swap. Details will be posted soon about how to sign up and the rules. It’s a great chance to discover new patterns and challenge other members. Then, for example, you could enter your make into the New to Me challenge 🙂

We’ll be back in a couple of days time with more information including dates and rules for each competition, some discount codes, and of course, the prizes! 🙂

You can easily keep up to date on all things IPM2015 over on our dedicated page here.

Feel free to ask any questions below.

So, have we piqued your interest? Tell us which competitions you are looking forward to and which sponsor you are most excited to see included?

  2. I was wondering –would Meg Mcelwee’s from Sew Liberated -Craftsy class patterns (Sewing with Knits) be considered an option for this month’s challenge? I know she’s an independent pattern maker, but since she’s teaching on Craftsy, I wasn’t sure. Thanks!
